PERFORMANCES Oper(O)

The fairy-tale

Oper(O) created a fairy tale and met children to remind them that the best journeys are those made in our imagination. The team used simple and enduring means to create an emotionally-packed atmosphere. In this project, Oper(O) sought to explore the structure and the capacities of the fairytale genre. Toying with narration, singing and music, Oper(O) addressed children, touching upon the issue of the importance of expressing emotion through art and music. ‘The gang of the lost speech’ raised for the first time the most discernible of the children’s questions: why is classical singing so odd, intense and over-the-top? Oper(O) wrote the story while the original score is under composition. ‘The gang of the lost speech’ is a work in progress and will eventually form into an integrated spectacle aimed at adult audiences.
